1/0, STRANDED SOFT DRAWN BARE COPPER - If it's far stranded unmarried fabric, like copper, i assume the quality way is to cut a foot (or more), strip it so it is natural metal, weigh it. Then calc what a single solid cord weighs. Examine. I don't know if a sprinkler in this example way a fireplace extinguishing sprinkler or just a gardening sprinkler. If it's miles for safety system i would absolutely get the precise wire gauge from the start, to not risk that a twisted wire receives "untwisted" so the sprinkler might not be able to operate.
Bundling of cable (what you are correctly doing) reduces the warmth dissipation capability of the cable, so a few protection element must be considered (ie do not use a 2x 20 awg cable for dc strength if the utility is electricity and requires a minimum or distinct 17 awg, but if the requirement is greater than 17 awg however less than 20 awg it is probably good enough, or if warmness isn't commonly an trouble, such as loudspeaker cable, warmth dissipation issues can be disregarded). Again, all relying on application. Electricity=present day^2 * resistance meaning that reducing the resistance will make your wire less hot. When you have too excessive resistance the wire gets warm, it'd burn off or burn soemthing else, in worst case motive hearth. If the cutting-edge is small, possibly the maximum traumatic effect can be that on the quit of the twine the voltage you install can have reduced because of the resistance.
If you twist two wires together, every would convey 1/2 the present day, so you'd "successfully increase the gauge." American cord gauges pass down by using about 10 for each aspect of ten in pass-sectional region. If you had ten #20 wires linked in parallel, they could deliver as an awful lot strength as one #10 wire. With #20 wires, you would have the equivalent of one #17 cord. This would make best feel to me if the wires were naked (no green/pink/white/black plastic coat round it) so it'd be copper twisted the whole period instead of just the ends... Does the coat have an effect on the present day? I am now not an electrician or ee so i'm not too sure about this.
